Founder of Statement2Excel at Statement2Excel
Asad Sumbul is the founder of Statement2Excel and the person who builds and maintains its conversion engine. He started the tool after spending too many evenings retyping transactions from PDF statements into spreadsheets, and decided the parsing should be the computer's job.
Most of his work is in the unglamorous middle of the problem: reading the geometry of a statement table, telling a debit column from a credit column, and reconciling every running balance so a converted file matches the original to the cent. The guides here come straight out of that work, so they lean practical over theoretical.
He writes about bank statement data, bookkeeping workflows, and reconciliation. When a guide recommends a step, it is the step he would take himself on a real file.
